
Typhoon "Leon", according to the meteorological bureau, has intensified to the destructive super-typhoon. Based on the report from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Batanes is under signal 4.
The northeastern part of the Babuyan Islands (Babuyan, Camiguin, Kalayaan), the northeastern part of the mainland of Cagayan (Santa Ana) has been declared under signal 3. Signal 2 has been declared for the remaining Babuyan Islands, the remaining part of the mainland of Cagayan, the northern and northeastern part of Isabela, Apayao, Calinga, the northern and northeastern part of Abra, the eastern part of Mountain Province, Ilocos Norte.
Signal 1 has been raised in the remaining parts of Isabela, Kirino, Nueva Vizcaya, the remaining part of Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, the remaining parts of Abra, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Aurora, the northeastern part of Tarlac. PAGASA noted that areas under signals 3 and 4 may experience intense rainfall exceeding 200 millimeters.
An operational report indicated that heavy rains of 100–200 millimeters may occur in Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Apayao, Abra, Isabela and Occidental Mindoro, on the Calamian Islands, in Antique and the Babuyan Islands. Calinga, Benguet, Mountain Province, La Union, Pangasinan and Negros Occidental may experience moderate to heavy rains of about 50–100 millimeters.
PAGASA reported that "Leon" was last observed 215 km east-southeast of Basco, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h and gusts of up to 230 km/h.
