Mock Elections Held in Makati for 2025 NLE

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) recently organized mock elections as part of the preparations for the upcoming May 2025 National and Local Elections (NLE). The simulation took place in various locations nationwide, including Sulu, Antipolo City in Rizal, and Makati and Pateros in Metro Manila.

The purpose of the mock elections was to assess the functionality of the voting machines and the overall automated election system. In Makati, the simulated voting was conducted at Makati High School in Barangay Poblacion. Two classrooms were designated for the mock elections: one served as a holding area, while the other functioned as a voting station. Additionally, a special area was allocated to accommodate vulnerable groups like the elderly and pregnant women.

The election period officially commenced on January 12, with Election Day set for May 12, 2025. The mock elections involved 100 voters and were closely monitored by Comelec officials and representatives from the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting. A voters’ assistance desk was also established to offer guidance to participants during the simulation.
