The New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC), the newly appointed operator of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, is advising passengers to arrive earlier for their flights due to expected increased travel volumes over the upcoming Undas weekend.
NNIC is collaborating with various airport stakeholders and government agencies, including the Manila International Airport Authority, the Department of Transportation, Philippine National Police-Aviation Security Group, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Bureau of Customs, Bureau of Immigration, and Bureau of Quarantine. The goal is to ensure adequate manpower and resources to manage the anticipated rise in passenger traffic effectively.
The airport operator is coordinating with airlines to open check-in counters early, aiming to reduce waiting times during peak hours. NNIC is also working with transportation service providers to increase vehicle availability. Moreover, a thorough review of ground handling and airline equipment deployment is in progress to streamline baggage and passenger flow.
To alleviate traffic congestion around the airport, NNIC will open additional parking spaces at Terminal 3. The corporation emphasized the importance of staying informed about travel guidelines and cooperating with airport personnel for a seamless experience during the busy season.
In connection with the Undas weekend, the Malacañang Palace has declared November 1 (All Saints’ Day) and November 2 (All Souls’ Day) as special non-working days. Furthermore, from noon on October 31, work in all government offices and classes at all levels nationwide will be suspended.
