Police Officer Arrested for Shooting Minors

On Christmas Day, a 28‑year‑old police officer in Parañaque City fired indiscriminately at three minors during a confrontation over noise and firecracker use. The children and their guardians filed a complaint alleging threats and the indiscriminate discharge of a firearm. Police recovered the suspect’s PNP‑issued gun, a loaded magazine with three rounds, an empty cartridge case, and his identification card.

"The PNP will not tolerate any abuse, especially when the victim is a child," Chief Police Major General Anthony Aberin said, stressing zero tolerance for child abuse.

"We will ensure that the law is applied equally, regardless of rank or position," he added.

The officer remains in custody and will face criminal and administrative proceedings.
