Comments to the post were filled with a mix of excited and curious remarks, some even asked whether these items hold significance for Pia. "Of course, they do!" Pia replied to one of the comments. Among the items being auctioned off are a silver dress she wore when she entered the top 15 of the Miss Universe pageant, her winning sashes from Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Universe, as well as her old journals from her travels as Miss Universe. According to Pia herself, she intends to donate proceeds from the auction to the Youth Center in Taguig, which, as she noted, created "a safe space for youth to gain access to education, prevention, and healing related to HIV". Recently Pia revealed her memorabilia being auctioned off on Instagram. "I can't think of a better way to honor the same community that helped me become who I am today," Pia shared in a separate comment. Pia became a front-runner in 2015, making her the first Filipina to reclaim the prestigious title of Miss Universe after a 40-year wait. "But I have a plan on how to turn them into something more memorable and enduring," she said. "I wore these items during a very important time in my life... and since then I've just been grateful. "They really mean more sentimental value to me than anything else I auction... all my thoughts are in these journals. Letting them go doesn't mean they mean nothing to me... they mean a lot. All the hardships, trainings, moments... everything!"
