Residents Save Pets During Typhoon in Talisay

A netizen shared heartwarming photos of residents in Poblacion, Talisay, Cebu, who did not abandon their pets during flooding and heavy rains caused by Typhoon Tino. Jojo Dela Cruz Geolin, who witnessed the situation, told The Filipino Times that some of the dogs were strays, yet locals still cared for them. According to Geolín, flooding began around 8:45 a.m., with water levels rising to waist height. «Our area isn't flood-prone, but due to surging water from the Mananga River in Barangay 4, warnings were issued in several areas. The water suddenly reached waist level in our neighborhood,» she explained. Geolín urged pet owners to ensure their pets' safety during disasters. «Your pets are part of your family,» she said. «They have lives too and cannot survive on their own during calamities. We need to listen to their voiceless plea and respond to their needs.»
