The new logo of the Administration for the Protection of the Interests of Overseas Filipino Workers (OWWA) was presented as a strong expression of the continuous striving for the welfare of Filipino migrants around the world. Based on the obligations to protect and support Filipino migrant workers and their families, the new emblematic image reflects the progressive vision of OWWA in achieving its enduring mission to protect and strengthen the positions of Filipino labor migrants.
"The logo symbolizes unity, protection, and the evolving role of OWWA in ensuring the welfare of our workers abroad," emphasized Ignasio. The national colors - blue and red - symbolize perseverance and peace in the Philippines, while the italicized letter "R" distinguishes the Philippines as the heart of OWWA's mission. The arc design, labeled "embrace," symbolizes OWWA's obligation to provide protection and support to Filipino migrants wherever they may find themselves in the world.
This new logo represents a significant step in the long-term transformation of OWWA, aligning with modernization efforts, the acceptance of digital innovations, and the enhancement of welfare programs for migrants from the Philippines. Through this rebranding, OWWA reaffirms its obligation to be a more responsive and effective agency for Filipino migrants.
During the official ceremony presenting the new logo, Secretary of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Hans Leo J. Cacdac and OWWA Administrator Arnell A. Ignasio emphasized the importance of the redesign. "This new logo is not just a visual update - it represents our deep commitment to support migrant workers and their families. The three stars symbolize the collaboration between the government, the migrants, and the private sector in ensuring the rights and welfare of migrants. The sun with all its rays symbolizes the main functions of OWWA in relation to the republican law No. 10,801."
