President Bongbong Marcos called on Filipinos to take advantage of ongoing job fairs in the country under the "Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas" program.
Speaking at one of the job fairs in Tagum city, Davao del Norte province, for participants of the "Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program" (4Ps), Marcos expressed hope for their successful employment and encouraged them to utilize available opportunities.
"I believe that each of you has the capability and determination to make your life productive," Marcos stated, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the opportunities presented by the job fairs.
The "Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas" initiative launched its first job fair in January 2024, where more than 9,000 people submitted applications and over 1,000 were immediately hired for jobs, including 95 participants from the 4Ps program.
The initiative’s success saw the holding of 1,908 job fairs last year, where 66,667 people received immediate employment, and Marcos promised to expand the program nationwide.
The initiative not only provides opportunities for employment but also focuses on matching personnel to ensure they meet the job requirements.
The main goal is to support participants of the 4Ps program by offering them employment, support for entrepreneurial activities, and access to basic services.
The government plans to support 4.4 million households this year, including 263,238 in the Davao region.
The job fair in Tagum featured 28 employers offering a wide range of vacancies, with 1,240 job openings, including positions for customer service representatives, clerks, cashiers, sales persons, and masons.
