The Philippine Department of Migrant Workers announces 3,500 job opportunities for Filipino hotel workers in Croatia this summer, offering competitive salaries and benefits.

New Job Opportunities for Filipino Workers in Croatia

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) is actively working on agreements with various countries to provide opportunities for Filipino workers, protect them from illegal recruiters, and prevent extra charges. Currently, a deal with Slovenia is in progress to cater to the increasing demand for Filipino caregivers in the country. It is anticipated that once finalized, thousands of job openings will be available.

Filipino caregivers in Slovenia are expected to receive competitive starting salaries ranging from 1,500 to 2,500 euros, equivalent to around 94,000 to over 156,000 pesos per month. Moreover, the DMW has announced approximately 3,500 job positions for Filipino hotel workers in Croatia this summer, specifically in late April and May. Qualified Filipino hotel workers in Croatia could earn more than 1,000 euros or over 62,000 pesos monthly, in addition to other benefits provided by Croatian employers.

DMW Undersecretary Patricia Yvonne Caunan mentioned that the guidelines for the partnership between the Philippines and Croatia are currently being finalized. She highlighted that as it is a government-to-government (G-to-G) arrangement, there will be no placement fees involved, and all applications must go through the DMW exclusively. In a G-to-G setup, the hiring process is direct between the two governments, eliminating any intermediaries or agencies.
