Last Chance for Abandoned Vehicle Owners at NAIA

Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has announced plans to tow and impound abandoned vehicles found at its parking lots, some of which have not been moved since 2014.

The New NAIA Infrastructure Corp (NNIC) has identified a total of 20 cars that are currently taking up valuable parking space across all four terminals. In a statement, NNIC stated that owners have a final opportunity to reclaim their vehicles before they are towed and impounded. The company stressed the urgent need to free up parking spots for current passengers as the number of abandoned vehicles continues to grow, exacerbating the existing scarcity of parking space.

NNIC is urging owners of the abandoned cars to come forward during a grace period, present proof of ownership, and provide valid identification. To encourage owners to act quickly, all relevant fees have been waived. If the vehicles are not reclaimed within the specified time frame, they will be impounded permanently and become government property. The company noted that many of the abandoned cars are in deteriorating condition, further underscoring the necessity for their removal to alleviate the issue of limited parking availability at NAIA.
