Pag-IBIG Fund Launches Online Public Auction for Properties

The Pag-IBIG Fund has officially introduced the Pag-IBIG Acquired Assets Online Public Auction (OPA) to provide homebuyers with a convenient way to browse and bid on properties for sale. The online platform, launched on November 15, enables users to register for a permanent Buyer ID and explore available properties without the need to visit a Pag-IBIG branch. Homebuyers can use any internet-connected device to access the platform.

The new feature "Add to Cart" allows users to easily submit bids for multiple properties with a single click. Marilene Acosta, the CEO of Pag-IBIG Fund, highlighted that the OPA aligns with the government's push for innovative homeownership solutions for Filipino workers. The initiative aims to leverage technology to facilitate Filipinos' dream of owning a home.

For those preferring manual bidding, the option is available until December 31, 2024. Full implementation of the OPA will commence on January 1, 2025, for the First and Second Public Auctions, while the OPA for negotiated sales will launch in November this year. Secretary Jose Rizalino L. Acuzar, who heads the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees, expressed optimism about the platform's potential to streamline the process of purchasing Pag-IBIG Fund's acquired assets.

Acosta emphasized Pag-IBIG Fund's commitment to digitalization and leveraging technology to enhance service delivery. The organization aims to make buying Pag-IBIG Fund properties more convenient and accessible for the public through the OPA. Implementing innovative digital solutions is crucial in the current digital age to better serve the needs of the Filipino people.
