Trailer for Darryl Yap's Film on Pepsi Paloma Released

Director Darryl Yap released a trailer for his upcoming film about Pepsi Paloma, announcing that the film will be shown in local cinemas on February 5. The video begins with Red Bustamante, portraying the late actress Pepsi Paloma, alone with a painted face, sharing her personal anecdotes on the ways to earn a living. Then, her mother, played by Shamein Buenka, is shown angrily confronting people who allegedly harassed her.

The trailer is titled "THE TRAILER OF THE TRUTH," accompanied by the tagline: "Para sa ika-40 anibersayo ng kamatayan ni Pepsi Paloma" (For the 40th anniversary of Pepsi Paloma's death). The clip also includes excerpts from recent interviews with Paloma's mother and brother. In addition to Bustamante and Buenka, the cast includes Gina Alajar, Mon Confiado, Beverly Salviejo, and Rozanna Rosing.

The trailer was released amid ongoing legal disputes between Yap and veteran television host Vico Sotto. Sotto filed 19 cases of cyber libel against Yap due to previous posts where he was identified as one of Paloma's alleged abusers. He also filed a petition against the release of personal information requiring the removal of any mention of his name in the promotion of the film.
