Actress Liza Soberano and her former screen partner Enrique Gil have teamed up to work on a new project aimed at raising the standards of Filipino cinema. 'This is something new,' Soberano said at the launch of the Dr. Shiba project in the town of Makati.
Gil began getting involved in film production in 2024, at the same time Soberano established her own production company in that same year, marking a new milestone in their careers. In a subsequent interview, Gil revealed that Soberano expressed interest in the horror genre, which he plans to produce.
Following the screening of Gil's film at the Manila Film Festival - 'Strange Frequencies: The Taiwanese Serial Killer' - details of their upcoming project remain under wraps for now. Nevertheless, their collaborative work has sparked anticipation among fans, keenly waiting for their reunion on screen in a new and innovative production.
'We are trying to develop a concept that we can work on together in the future. I can't guarantee that this will be produced next year, as the idea still needs refinement.'
