The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), headed by Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac, presented the Philippines at the forefront of the global labor summit day on labor rights, participating in the Future of Work Forum at the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai.
This was to enhance compliance with labor obligations aimed at creating greater opportunities for Filipino migrants in the UAE, ensuring their rights and welfare are protected.
"The participation of DMW in the summit supports the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to strengthen bilateral labor relations aimed at ensuring better opportunities and improved protection of the rights and welfare of Filipino migrants," the agency reported in a Facebook post.
The forum, attended by global experts and lawmakers, addressed key issues shaping the work environment, including the adaptability of the workforce, economic shifts, management of wage earners, and the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on labor markets.
