The death toll from Typhoon "Kalmaegi" in the Philippines has risen to over 90, according to official figures. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council confirmed earlier that 17 people had been killed in other provinces. A spokesman for Cebu province, one of the hardest hit, told AFP that 35 bodies were found in a coastal town submerged by floods, bringing the total death toll to 76. The typhoon caused severe flooding, a rare occurrence in the region.
