The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) carried out a supply mission in December 2023 to support troops deployed in the West Philippine Sea. The team delivered Christmas packages, medical supplies and food to remote locations such as Pag-asa Island, BRP Sierra Madre and Likas Island.
"The message this Christmas is clear and unwavering: wherever our troops may be, they will be supported—by the institution they serve, by the Filipino people, and by a grateful nation—today, tomorrow, and always," the AFP said.
"This outreach brings a piece of home to the frontlines, reminding every soldier that their dedication is seen, honored, and deeply valued," the forces added.
Led by Vice Admiral Alfonso Torres Jr., the mission aimed to ensure timely delivery of supplies and medical services to the most remote and strategically vital positions of the Philippines.
