Chelsea Manalo, recently crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2024, is all set to represent the Philippines at the upcoming Miss Universe 2024 pageant in Mexico, scheduled for November 16. Departing from NAIA Terminal 1, she was visibly moved as she embarked on her journey to Los Angeles before proceeding to Mexico on October 29. Accompanying her on this voyage is Jonas Gaffud, the National Director of Miss Universe Philippines.
Expressing her gratitude for the unwavering support from Gaffud and the Miss Universe Philippines organization, Manalo reminisced about her humble beginnings with just her parents and designer Manny Halasan by her side. Laden with 10 bags and boxes containing essential items, she emphasized the overwhelming backing from her supporters, lauding the strong "Filipino spirit" that resonated during her send-off.
Confident in her meticulous preparations, Manalo affirmed her readiness for the prestigious competition, asserting that she is already at her peak performance level. She revealed her excitement about collaborating with Manny Halasan, who will exclusively design her wardrobe, from the preliminaries to the final stage of the pageant.
Accompanied by her parents and the renowned designer Halasan at the airport, Manalo expressed her profound appreciation for the newfound support system propelling her towards her journey to LA and subsequently Mexico. Despite the initial skepticism she faced, she is buoyed by the belief in her abilities and the foundation of encouragement laid by her family and close-knit team.
