The winner of the "Miss Universe 2015" contest, Pia Wurtzbach, calls on Filipino pageant fans to support Celys Manalo in the upcoming "Miss Universe" competition. Speaking at the media launch of the Love Gala Auction, where she announced her upcoming participation in the beauty contest on December 3, Pia stated: "Let's all support our own Miss Philippines, Celys Manalo. She is a true angel, and I am sure she will make us all proud." This prompted applause from the audience.
Pia urged fans to vote, adding: "I want to encourage all our kababayans to support Celys. We want another 'Miss Universe', don't we?" Her call received a storm of applause.
The "Miss Universe 2024" competition will take place on November 16 (November 17 in Manila) in Mexico, where over 120 contestants will compete for the title, making it the largest event in the contest's history. "She represents us so well, and I know she will shine and get the best advice," Pia shared. "I had the chance to talk to her and give her a few tips, since I know how stressful it can be when you are already in the spotlight.".
Wurtzbach concluded her message with a call for full support of the Filipino representative: "I know that any words of encouragement we can give her in the comments, or any way we can help through voting, let's all do that."
