
The latest damage assessments from Typhoon Christian reached 2.5 billion Philippine pesos. The devastating Typhoon Christian forced 160 local governments and municipalities to declare a state of calamity for the use of their quick response funds. As a result, a million people found themselves without blood, and over 44,000 houses and 990 infrastructures were damaged, causing damage in the amount of 4.4 million and 1.5 billion Philippine pesos, respectively.
According to the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRMC), the number of fatalities from the Strong tropical storm Christian (international name: Trami) rose to 116 people by October 28. According to the preliminary report from the NDRRMC, 10 of these cases of death were confirmed. It was also reported about 109 missing and 39 drowned without a trace.
