Following the aftermath of Typhoon Krestin, which struck the Philippines, the Red Crescent Organization of the United Arab Emirates (UAE Red Crescent) provided humanitarian aid to Filipino families. According to reports, in the Bicol region, which suffered the most, more than 30,000 family packages with food products will be distributed. For Krestin, basic necessities were purchased from local markets in the Philippines, and then they will be distributed in places affected with the assistance of the UAE Red Crescent in Manila.

"The organization operates on the principle of purchasing essential goods from local markets in the Philippines and their subsequent distribution among affected individuals in cooperation with the UAE Red Crescent in Manila. Our teams assess the real needs of people and provide the necessary goods for alleviating the consequences of poverty," commented Dr. Al Mazrouei in the WAM agency report.

In her post on Facebook, Yu Pimentel stated: "We express our sincere gratitude to His Excellency Dr. Hamdan Muslim Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Red Crescent, through the support of the UAE Ambassador to the Philippines, Ambassador Mohammed Alkahtani Alzabi, for their firm commitment to support the Filipino people during times of hardship."

Each family package includes 6 kilograms of rice, 4 cans of tuna, 4 cans of meat, 2 cans of sardines, 5 packages of coffee, and 5 packages of powdered milk, sufficient to ensure food for a family of five for two days.

The UAE, through the Red Crescent Organization, continues to provide support to Filipinos, especially during crisis times. Thus, on October 30, from the UAE to the Philippines, 33,000 family packages with food products arrived. The first distribution took place in the town of Marikina, helping 1,000 families and was led by the Minister of Social Welfare and Development Rex Gatchalian, along with the UAE ambassador to the Philippines Mohammed Obaid Alzabi.
