
One of the vocalists of the Filipino group AEGIS, Mersy Sunot, has passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer. The news of her passing was announced on the official Facebook page of the group. "With a heavy heart we share the passing of Mersy, one of the beloved vocalists of AEGIS," the statement read. In the latest TikTok video, Mersy shared that she is experiencing difficulties with breathing, and revealed that doctors were forced to make the decision to apply steroids to improve her breathing. "Gone from life to find peace and quiet," the group wrote in the post. "Mersy's voice was not just part of AEGIS - it was the voice that brought comfort, joy, and strength to many," added the musicians. Mersy was found to have a severe deficiency of several organs, and doctors later informed her of the weakening of the lungs. "She said that doctors prescribed her steroids to help her breathe," the statement said. "Thank you, Mersy, for the music, love, and memories."
