
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos has been chosen to represent the Philippines at the World Governments Summit 2025, which is set to be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from February 11 to 13, as announced by the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Friday, January 31. "Only the First Lady," clarified PCO Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez, mentioning that President Bongbong Marcos will not be accompanying her.
In a recent Facebook post, the First Lady shared a photo from a preliminary meeting that took place at her office on January 30. She later shared details on Instagram, stating, "We discussed several memorandum of agreements, including the progress of our Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) to advance the mutual prosperity of both our countries."
The theme for this year's World Governments Summit is "Shaping Future Governments," aiming to bring together governments, international organizations, and leaders from various sectors to foster cooperation and explore innovative solutions to future challenges. The event, which marks its 12th edition and is the largest in its history, is expected to host over 30 heads of state and government, along with more than 400 ministers, in over 30 ministerial meetings and roundtables.
According to UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the World Governments Summit Organization, His Excellency Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the Summit's agenda will be centered around key topics such as governance, economy, technology, sustainability, and global health.
