
The aviation authorities of the Philippines confirmed the death of a 25-year-old female pilot who crashed in the waters off Guimba, Nueva Ecija. The aircraft, identified as RP-C3424, went down around 17:00 on Saturday, February 1. The pilot, Julia Flori Monzon, a resident of Paranaque in Asia, was the sole passenger in the helicopter. She was scheduled for transport to Heritage Park in Taguig on Sunday evening.
According to representatives from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Eric Apolonio, the helicopter took off from Manila at 10:22 AM and flew to Bagio, where a passenger was dropped off. The helicopter then departed Bagio at 11:51 AM for Binangonan, Pangasinan, to refuel, arriving at 12:05 PM.
However, airport officials reported that the helicopter encountered engine restart issues before it was able to take off again at 16:30. The CAAP has initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash.
Leading to an interview later confirmed that the deceased was indeed the pilot. Revealing, as reported, had visited the cemetery in Guimba, where remains were originally delivered.
