Philippine Department Warns Against Scammers

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) warns the public about scammers using the names of high-ranking Philippine government officials. According to their warning, scammers claim to represent the Office of the President, the spokesperson of the Palace representatives, the President's special assistant, the President of the Senate, and even the Secretary of DMW Hans Leo Cacdac.

These scammers use the names of these high-ranking Philippine government officials to solicit money, request expedited processing of documents for work abroad, and propose labor opportunities. DMW denies these claims and states that no money is being solicited and does not provide sanctioned services through unofficial channels.

"We urge everyone to verify information only through official platforms of the department," it is stated in DMW's public announcement. The department also calls on the public to send direct messages through its official Facebook pages or to contact via official email addresses provided on its website. Requests can also be sent to [email protected]. For urgent matters, please contact the DMW's public information assistance center at hotline numbers (02) 8722-11-44 and (02) 8722-11-55.
