Philippines and Indonesia Sign Scholarship Agreement

The Philippine and Indonesian governments plan to sign an agreement on providing scholarships for Filipino Muslims to study in Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia. The scholarship program will allow Muslims from the Philippines to visit Pondok Pesantren Darullughah Wadda'dwah, and it will also include a financial allowance for living expenses.

NCMF Secretary Sabuddin Abdurahim announced this after a successful mission in Jakarta, where the General Directorate of Islamic Education of Indonesia showed interest in providing the scholarship. NCMF is finalizing the memo on cooperation regarding the program and will soon publish details of the application process.

Cooperation is also expanding into other areas, including organizing halal product certification and plans to finalize an MOU on halal products by March or April 2025.

Quote: "This scholarship program opens new opportunities for Muslims from the Philippines and strengthens ties between the two countries," emphasized Sabuddin Abdurahim.
