The Chairman of the House has stated that the House Secretary remains neutral and professional in his work. On February 5, the House representatives submitted an impeachment motion against Vice-President Duterth regarding accusations of malfeasance in public trust, serious violations of the constitution, corruption, and other serious crimes.
To support the actions of deputies in the upcoming impeachment of Vice-President Sara Duterth, the House representatives named 134 employees to the House Secretary's impeachment committee. In the memorandum dated February 27, published on February 28, General Secretary of the House Redzhinal Velasquez announced that these 134 employees will provide support, according to a schedule approved by the department heads.
The employees will provide various types of support, such as planning meetings, legal research, record-keeping management, stenographic transcription, information technologies, security, and administrative coordination. It was also specified that employees working overtime will be compensated either with payment or additional pay.
The House staff representatives will need to register their presence through the HousePass monitoring system in a designated area of the House Secretary's office. Velasquez confirmed that the designated personnel will strictly adhere to House rules and ethical standards, ensuring transparency and professionalism throughout the entire process of conducting the judicial process.
