Philippines Launches Online Voting for 2025 Elections

Foreign Filipino voters residing in the UAE must confirm their qualification for voting in the upcoming elections in 2025, ensuring active electronic registration and providing a phone number, as well as a valid identification document issued by Philippine authorities (e.g., Philippine passport).

The Online Voting and Counting System (OVCS) is a significant improvement in making voting accessible for overseas Filipinos.

The Philippine Embassy in the UAE urges all registered foreign Filipino voters to complete the necessary step of preliminary registration for the upcoming international elections in 2025, stressing that the overseas voting system is now fully online.

According to the information from the Embassy, the preliminary registration period for overseas voters will run from March 10 to May 7, 2025.

To confirm qualifications for preliminary registration, voters must be registered at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi or at the Philippine General Consulate in Dubai.

Through this system, registered voters can conveniently vote online using any electronic device, including mobile phones, laptops, desktop computers, and tablets, irrespective of the operating system or web browser.

For those who may encounter technical problems, kiosks for voting OVCS will be available at the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Philippine General Consulate in Dubai during the 30-day period of overseas voting. Individuals who fail to register by September 2024 will not be able to vote. Registered voters must undergo a preliminary registration process for the possibility of voting online in upcoming elections.
