Two lawmakers stated that the absence of three additional individuals who received confidential resources from the Office of the Vice President (OVP) strengthens the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte. The names - Pia Piatose-Lim, Renan Piatose, and Syaomi Ocho - were found in the appendices to the impeachment complaint, but they were not included in the government records, including those maintained by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The vice-leader of the majority in the House of Representatives, Paolo Ortega from the first district of La Union, expressed doubts regarding the legitimacy of these names, questioning their right to receive confidential resources. Ortega emphasized that none of these individuals appears in the PSA records of births, marriages, or deaths, indicating a lack of verification and could serve as witnesses regarding their non-existence.
Ortega argued that the salient nature of these names strengthens the impeachment case, as they could indicate the misuse of public resources. He also noted discrepancies in the records of other individuals related to confidential resources from OVP.
