
A recent Pulse Asia study showed that almost half of Filipinos disapproved of the impeachment of Vice-President Sara Duterte. The survey, conducted from February 20 to 26, found that 45 percent of respondents opposed the impeachment, which is two percentage points lower than in January. At the same time, 26 percent agreed with the initiative, 23 percent were undecided, and 7 percent stated that they lacked sufficient knowledge to form an opinion.
Regarding the fairness of the pending case in the Senate, 35 percent of respondents believe the court will be unfair, while 21 percent expect a fair process. Another 33 percent are undecided, and 11 percent lacked opinions due to insufficient knowledge. The Senate has tentatively scheduled the trial to begin on July 30, following the transfer of the impeachment case to the Senate on February 5.
