The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has taken action against an unlicensed company in Mabalacat City, Pampanga accused of unlawfully recruiting Filipino aircraft mechanics for jobs in the United States. The company, AEROSTRATEGIES INC., has been shut down by DMW Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac. It was found that the firm was offering aircraft mechanics positions in Texas, USA, with salaries of $3,344, approximately PHP 193,500, without the necessary recruitment license.
Investigators uncovered that AEROSTRATEGIES INC.’s registered business address in Manila was actually a temporary lodging house, which raised red flags about its legitimacy. Cacdac emphasized the importance of verifying the legitimacy of recruitment agencies with DMW before accepting any overseas job offers to prevent illegal recruiters from exploiting potential overseas applicants.
In response to these findings, DMW placed AEROSTRATEGIES INC. on its blacklist, prohibiting its key officers from participating in any future overseas recruitment activities. The agency has further recommended the cancellation of the company’s business permit in Mabalacat City and the revocation of its registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
The company posed as an aviation consultancy to deceive job seekers. Legal actions are being prepared against those involved in this deceitful operation to uphold the integrity of overseas recruitment practices.
