Representative from Ilokosa Norte and the son of President Ferdinan Marcos Jr., Ferdinan Aleksandr "Sandro" Marcos expressed his disapproval regarding "strange outbursts of anger" and "transparency" noted in Marcos's address from the Vice President Saru Duter. "He crossed the line, stepping beyond the bounds of public and civil space, where discussions can be rational," said Deputy Marcos. He also emphasized the importance of mental health, expressing hope for the welfare of Duter. "I equally wish the Vice President well. May she acquire wisdom and clarity in reasoning, which seems to be lacking from her," he added.
In his statement, Deputy Marcos noted that he could not remain silent after the Vice President threatened to "overcome" President Ferdinan Marcos Jr. and take apart the remnants of the former dictator Marcos Sr. "I could perhaps overlook the fact that personally for me these people are dear, but I would be remiss in my obligations as a representative of Ilokosa, if they had not expressed their irritation at transparent comments she made so blatantly," said Deputy Marcos. A few days prior to the statement by the deputy, Duter warned Marcos that the continuation of attacks against him would compel her to take apart the remnants of patriarchs and their families.
While the father of the deputy asked him to refrain from commenting directed at Duter, the deputy himself felt it necessary to draw the line. "Perhaps, 'coming out to fight' was the same method of self-therapy that she herself recommended. Ultimately, her success, as well as that of the President, will reflect the success of our country as a whole," concluded the deputy.
