The vice president, Sara Duterte, called on Filipinos to pray for the souls of the departed and the stability of the country in the face of evil. In a statement by Duterte on All Saints' Day, November 1, she expressed hope that the significance of saints and the remembrance of the departed would be at the center of the commemoration.

"In our gatherings, let us pray for the glorious peace of the souls of those who have passed, alongside our gratitude for their love, guidance, and the lessons they have left us," she said. "Let us bring to them our worries and pray that the weight of our burdens in life may be eased," added Duterte, addressing the saints.

The vice president also called on Filipinos to pray for the country. "Let us collectively pray for the peace and resilience of our nation in the face of the challenges of evil, corruption, and personal interests for the wealth and power of a few," she said.

Countless Filipinos traveled to their home provinces with their families to commemorate All Saints' Day and remember the departed.
