President Ferdinand R. Marcos joined the Filipinos in the celebration of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day, calling on the nation to reflect on values and honor the memory of those who contributed to the progress of the country. In his statement, Marcos highlighted these days as an opportunity for reflection and renewal.
"I join all Filipinos, both in the Philippines and around the world, in celebrating All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day," he noted, urging others to "devote a path to our divine providence through their primer faith and love for others."
Marcos also emphasized that All Souls' Day is a moment to remember the sacrifices and services of those who have passed away. "This fitting moment strengthens our bond in improving our spiritual life, not only with the divine but also with one another," he said.
The president also called on Filipinos to emulate the goodness of the saints, such as compassion, kindness, and humility, adding that All Saints' Day reminds people to live in a way that reflects these qualities.
He also urged Filipinos to once again unite with their families, visit the graves of their loved ones, and pay respects in gratitude. "Let this remind us of the values that will live in us as a nation: faith, resilience, and hope," he said, calling on the public to live with love and strive for common good.
