Former President Rodrigo Duterte will still appear in the Batangas Pambansa in the midst, on November 13, regardless of the cancelled hearings by the Palace Committee. Former press secretary of the President of El Salvador Panelo stated that he and Duterte will arrive at the Palace of Representatives at 10:00 AM tomorrow. "The president and I will arrive at Batangas Pambansa tomorrow at 10:00 AM and will meet with the members of the Quadrant Committee," said Panelo. "After the insistence to present him, accepting the invitation and his arrival here last night, they simply cancelled it without prior notification," he added. Panelo also stated that Duterte requested for the legislature to hold a marathon hearing for ten days. Although the Quadrant Committee of the Palace already cancelled the intermediate hearing, later that same day Panelo announced Duterte's readiness to be present at it. This cancellation and the subsequent announcement caused confusion, and users on social networks began to express their questions about the timing. Representative from Sta. Rosa Dan Fernandez stated that Duterte's camp apparently made this announcement so that it seemed as if they were stepping away from a possible conflict. "This was predetermined, it's their style, to make us appear to be retreating," said Fernandez.
