The journey of Carlos Yulo to success has been unyielding. The 24-year-old gymnast has faced challenges both in the training process and beyond, in order to reach the pinnacle. All his sacrifices were redeemed after he secured two gold medals at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
"Clearly, this is his achievement, but I am simply amazed that he always thanks me," she said. "I am always grateful for the fact that he always acknowledges what we do together."
Yulo emphasized the decisive role that his partner, Hloya San Jose, who has been training with him for more than five years, especially regarding his psychological well-being. "My wonderful partner, Hloya, thank you for working on my mental health," Yulo said during his performance at the ceremony for the 'Sportsman of the Year' awards from the Philippine Sportswriters Association.
San Jose said she greatly values Yulo for his constant expression of gratitude for her unwavering support. "I feel so loved and appreciated."
